My Painting Places - Algonquin Provincial Park, Part Two

Well, I've finished writing and publishing another book, "The Fly On The Wall", somewhat autobiographical in nature, and a vehicle in which to publish some of my writing including a good number of poems. This book came about as the result of my waking up one day and realizing that time stands still for no man,....

Running out of time!

I woke up this morning,
and for a few minutes
believed that I was much younger.
I’m 76 years, pretty close to 77 years, of age.
It wasn’t that I felt younger,
as I have no idea what it’s like to feel younger.
I just thought,
and for only a few minutes,
that I was 70 years of age,
and took some consolation in the thought
that I had years yet to live.
And then, I realized that no,
I’m almost 77 years of age, and that I would be lucky,
really lucky,
to see 90 years of age.
I panicked realizing that I was running out of time.
Running out of time!

And so I sat down and wrote this book providing a bit of history of my life and time spent thus far.
The book is available at Blurb.ca  Look in the Bookstore under Memoirs, or if that fails search Books by Ernest Andrew Somers. Enjoy the preview.

So, this book out of the way I can get on with finishing My Painting Places - Algonquin Provincial Park, Part Two. Incidentally, Part One was also published through Blurb.ca and also provides a preview.
Part Two, I believe, will be a large book as I have a lot of material to wade through. A previous book about Algonquin Provincial Park was written and published some 15 years, and during the intervening time I made a lot of paintings and sketches of the park. So, we'll get started in the New Year with the hopes of finishing sometime in the spring. I'll keep you posted as I travel through the park. In the meantime here are a couple of pencil sketches made this past year.
